1. Almaty: Located in southeast Kazakhstan, Almaty is the largest city in the country and the former capital. It is known for its vibrant nightlife, shopping, stunning mountains, and ski resorts.

2. Caspian Sea: The Caspian Sea is the largest enclosed body of water in the world, and is surrounded by Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan. It is a great place to enjoy a variety of watersports such as fishing, sailing, and boating.

3. Charyn Canyon: Charyn Canyon is a stunning natural wonder located in east Kazakhstan, and is home to some of the most colorful and unique rock formations in the world. It is also a popular hiking destination.

4. Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana): Nur-Sultan is the current capital of Kazakhstan, and is known for its modern architecture and futuristic skyline. It is also home to many historical sites, museums, and monuments.

5. Lake Balkhash: Lake Balkhash is one of the largest lakes in Central Asia, and is located in southeast Kazakhstan. It is a popular tourist destination, and is known for its picturesque views and diverse wildlife.

1. Panfilov Park: This public park is home to the Zenkov Cathedral, a grand wooden structure that's one of the only surviving buildings of its kind in the world.

2. Central State Museum of Kazakhstan: This museum is the largest in Kazakhstan and holds a huge collection of artifacts and artworks that tell the story of the country's history.

Stuffed animals, mummies, flowers, petrified trees and bones of ancient creatures that lived on the territory of Kazakhstan are all here. There is a hall with yurts, decorations, clothes and other things. 

You can take photos only in hall 4 (modern history) and in the lobby.

3. Medeu: This large outdoor ice-skating rink is the world's highest and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

4. Kok Tobe Hill: This hilltop park offers a great view of the city and is home to a large Ferris wheel, amusement park, and other attractions.

If you want to climb the Kok Tobe Mount in the most exciting and unusual way, you may become a passenger of a unique cableway connecting the downtown of Almaty and Kok Tobe. The cableway is 1,620 meters long, and the travel time is 6 minutes with 250 meter elevation that allows you watching the life of the city from above – right below you there are green gardens, private houses and endless city skyscrapers behind them. There are 17 cabins with capacity of 8 people in each.

6. Big Almaty Lake: This beautiful lake is located in the mountains and offers great views, hiking trails, and a beach.

8. Shymbulak Ski Resort: This resort is located in the mountains outside Almaty and offers great skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports.

9. Almaty Zoo: This zoo is one of the largest in Central Asia and is home to a variety of animals, including tigers, elephants, and bears.

10. Almaty Tower: This tall tower is the tallest structure in Central Asia and offers great views of the city from its observation deck.

Lake Issyk

Likely to be fairly crowded if it's a nice day. You park about 1 km from the lake and can walk or take a shuttle van to the area just above the lake.

Kok-Tobe

The Almaty Cableway is a cable car line in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The cable car line is 2.5 km long and runs from the top of Kok-Tobe hill to the observation platform of the Medeo high-mountain skating rink. The cableway was built in 1967 and has been operating since then. It offers a breathtaking view of the city and its surroundings. The cable car cabin has a capacity of 8 people, and the ride takes around 15-20 minutes.
